Bernard Labadie, cérémonie des Lumières
18-19 GRANDS RENDEZ-VOUS SERIES
18-19 QUATUOR À LA CARTE SERIES
Palais Montcalm - Maison de la musique
995, place D’Youville, Quebec City
La Chapelle de Québec’s music director combines the strengths of the two ensembles he founded in two irresistible, contrasting works by Mozart and Haydn. La Chapelle de Québec will be newly back from an appearance at Carnegie Hall on an invitation by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and its newly appointed principal conductor Bernard Labadie.
This concert is also presented on:
-Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 8 p.m. at Salle Raoul-Jobin, Palais Montcalm - Maison de la musique in Quebec City
-Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at Maison symphonique de Montréal
«We go back in this concert to the last years of the Enlightenment in Imperial Austria. In this Catholic country with its longstanding tradition of religious music, we find Haydn and Mozart conscientiously discharging their duties as they compose, often at the command of their employers, the works that would become part of history.» To read the program notes by Irène Brisson, click here.
We thank Ms. Karina Gauvin for accepting our last-minute invitation to replace soprano Kimy Mc Laren, who will not be able to attend tonight’s concert due to health reasons.
