Les Violons du Roy will perform The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, a set of four violin concertos that is one of the most famous works in the repertoire. Each season is depicted in a separate concerto, headed in the score by an explanatory poem explaining the composer’s goals. Thanks to Vivaldi’s genius, the music casts a spell from the opening bars of the “Spring” concerto as listeners are entranced by a series of scenes illustrating rural life and the beauties of Nature.
